YOUTH TRAINING IS NOW ON!

When: Friday nights
Time: 5:30pm to 8pm
Cost: $25 non members, $15 members
Ages: 8 to 15 yrs

What you can expect…

2 ½ hours of programmed coaching;
- 15 mins warm-up games and stretches
- 45 mins strength, power and endurance climbing program
- 45 mins improving climbing technique and problem solving
- 45 mins set boulder problems incorporating technique

These exercises have been adapted to improve your climbing ability. Youth Training covers the health and physical components of fitness, which refers to the capacity of an athlete to meet the varied physical demands of their sport efficiently, and without reducing the athlete to a fatigued state. Youth Training will endeavour to work on the following components of the body:

Health and physical related components:
The components of health and physical fitness are related to how well the systems of your body work. These factors are:

Cardiovascular fitness
Body composition
Flexibility
Muscular strength
Muscular endurance

Skill related components:
Those aspects of fitness which form the basis for successful sport or activity participation.

Power
Balance
Speed
Agility
Coordination
Reaction time

What to bring…

- training shoes
- climbing shoes/chalk (optional)
